The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Ground Works is designed to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills related to general health, safety, and welfare in a working environment. Upon completion, you will be proficient in various practical skills such as establishing work area protection and safety, segregating the area, placing and finishing non-specialist concrete, installing drainage, reinstating ground conditions, placing and compacting concrete, and erecting and dismantling access/working platforms. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, potential candidates must demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and experience required for site carpentry before enrolling.
During your initial induction, you will discuss an assessment plan with an assessor, and both of you will agree on a planned end date. We expect you to complete your NVQ qualification within 4 to 6 weeks, although we also offer fast-track options. During the initial assessment, your assessor will identify the most suitable optional units for you and provide guidance on the evidence required. At this stage, you will be introduced to Learning Assistant, a platform that allows you to upload evidence for your NVQ. Your progress will be regularly monitored and feedback will be provided in various ways, including contact records transmitted through Learning Assistant, which also includes a percentage complete indicator. In addition, your assessor will maintain regular contact by phone, text message, and email to support you throughout the assessment process and ensure that you complete your NVQ in a timely manner.
